The "new" in the old area
Bluebell tree ( Paulownia tomentosa )
the bee friend
Due to its annual growth of 40-50 cm, the bluebell tree develops very quickly into an imposing tree, which is why it rightly bears the name Kaiserbaum.
Blue bell trees adorn magnificent parks, such as in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and become from BMEL as particularly bee-friendly tree species recommended.
The Paulownia masters the challenges of climate change - for example through high CO2 binding or the deep and extensive root system.
The crown is in full bloom from April to the end of May inevitably draws everyone's attention. Even from afar, the blue bell tree lights up in a magical violet. The loose crown is completely covered by inflorescences composed of fragrant individual flowers. Each of the panicles can reach 20 to 30 centimeters in length.
In the flowering period (bot.) Paulownia tomentosa does not develop foliage. The huge, light green and heart-shaped leaves only appear when the flowers fade. Each leaf grows between 30 and 40 centimeters. It is velvety hairy.

Ironwood tree (Parrotia persica)
the climate tree
The Persian Ironwood Tree / Iron Tree is a jewel of rarity and is one of the climate trees.
It got its name because of its hardness of wood, many know him under the name Parrotie.
The parrotia is popular for its unique fall coloration. As early as spring, when the tree is sprouting, the tree shows the play of colors that awaits visitors over the course of the year. With increasing age, the tree develops an imposing crown.
In its early years, the Persian ironwood tree takes its time to grow. Over the years, however, it increases in height and crown circumference. The height can be seven to nine meters in old age. Its main branches grow upwards in a funnel shape and also sprout in width, so that the girth of the iron tree is usually very impressive.
From the flowers develop to late summer inconspicuous fruit capsules. The leaves a red adorns the shoot Edge. Their growth on the shoots is alternate and they are green in summer. The autumn color of the leaves ranges from yellow and orange to red and purple. This makes the Parrotie a real eye-catcher on the club lawn.
